How to make the best bread in the world….by the greatest dad in the world!

Ingredients:

  • 1200 grams of Bread Flour
  • 500 grams of Mother
  • 0.75 liters of warm water
  • 30 grams of salt

Preparation of the Bread:

  1. In a large bowl mix the 1200 grams of Bread Flour with the 30 grams of salt.
  2. In a separate bowl mix the 500 grams of Mother with the 0.75 liters of warm water untill most of the Mother is dissolved.
  3. Mix the liquid Mother with the Bread Flour and kneed the dough untill it isnt very sticky.
  4. Split the dough into 3 containers and cover with clingfilm.
  5. Leave to raise for 6 to 8 hours depending on how hot the room is.
  6. Put one bowl in the fridge overnight and the other 2 bowls in the freezer.

Feeding the Mother

  1. Add to the reminaing mother 350 grams of flour and 200 ml of water.
  2. Mix the mother and add water if required to make it moist.
  3. Leave the mother to raise for 8 hours.
  4. Put in the fridge until the next time you need it (maximum of 7 days).

Baking the Bread

  1. Preheat an oven with a large metal pot for about 5 minutes on full power.
  2. Take out the Bread dough from the fridge and cover it with a fistfull of flour and then using a spatula detach it from the bowl.
  3. Take out the large metal pot from the oven and place the Bread dough in it.
  4. Using a sharp blade cut a cross on thop of the Bread.
  5. Cover the metal pot with a lid and place in the oven for 50 minutes.
  6. After 50 minutes lower the heat of the oven to 220 degrees celcius.
  7. Take the bread out of the pot and place it in the oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Take the bread out of the oven and leave it to cool for at least 2 hours before cutting it.
